The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted air cargo logistics as flights across countries reduced significantly. To meet the demand. many cargo companies created van fleets to use in express deliveries. However, the inventory shortages (available containers) within the container shipping industry have been more difficult to solve. Lack of containers put a lot of pressure on exporters and carriers and resulted in many cancellations. These cancellations and the shortage caused an increase in freight quotes. The inventory shortage is expected to continue until mid-summer and we ask all our exporters to consider the situation. We recommend booking at least a month before the departure to prevent any shortage.
